Vacuum Cup Mount
The vacuum cup version is an excellent choice for most boats. It easily attaches to your boat in seconds. Simply position it on the transom between where your shore power cable exits your boat and where the shore power cable touches the dock. Avoid placing the vacuum cup edge on any obstruction as it will only work when there is a complete 100% seal around its edge.
Pump up the vacuum cup which actually removes air from the cup to create a safe, amazingly long and strong hold. Then extend the telescopic support pole so that the end is about half way between your boat and the dock. You may also adjust the telescopic arm up or down to obtain the correct angle.
Basically, the best location for the support bracket, which holds the shore power cable, is halfway between where the cable exits your boat and where the cable meets the dock. The picture below illustrates the correct position of a vacuum cup mount CableBoom.
Rod Holder Mount
The rod holder mount version is popular with boats that have flush mount rod holders on the gunnel. The part of this CableBoom, which inserts into the rod holder comes in 13" and 14 1/2". We offer both sizes because some rod holders are deeper then others. To determine which would fit best in your boat measure the depth of your rod holder. The CableBoom version that would work best should stick out about 2"-3" above the top of the rod holder.
This CableBoom version installs in seconds by simply placing it in your rod holder. Adjust the telescopic pole and its angle so the end of it is about halfway between your boat and the dock.
The picture below illustrates the correct position of the Rod holder mount CableBoom.
Both mounting versions are available in two telescopic pole lengths, 2'-4' and 3'-6'. The telescopic poles will give you the flexibility to adjust your CableBoom's length in varied docking situations.
